The country music spectacular concert, “Homegrown Country All-Stars,” featured all Central Florida performers, from the young through the highly seasoned. The show was hosted by musician David Allen Potter, fiddle player and vocalist with the Smooth Country Band. David performed with his band mates David Peddicord on vocals, steel guitar, electric guitar, and banjo; Vern Brewer on vocals and bass; George Hawkins on lead guitar and keyboards; and, Stan Chase on drums. Unfortunately their special guest star, retired country musician legend Tommy Brown, was sadly unable to appear due to illness and was truly missed by his loyal fans and friends. Tommy performed for decades in Central Florida with his band Sugarmill Express at the Aku Tiki Inn and other venues in the Daytona Beach area. His biography book, “Tommy Brown – Entertainer,” written by Buzz Porter, was available for sale in the lobby.

The Diamond Dixie dynamic country sister-duo act from Orlando billing themselves as “Florida Girls, Country to the Core,” opened the show. Teenagers Gabriela and Bianca LeDuc, along with their brother Ronnie on drums, performed a wide variety of new country songs with an exciting and fresh sound. They are receiving attention in the Central Florida country music scene, and have rocked the stage at the legendary Tootsie’s World Famous Orchid Lounge in Nashville as well as entertaining crowds throughout the southeast, with performances in Tampa, Daytona, Miami and the US Virgin Islands! Also, up and coming Nashville Recording Artist Johnny Reed Foley joined the girls on stage.

He plays 12 musical Instruments and has won several competitions across the country for his performances, receiving two NACMAI awards for both Florida’s Vocalist of the Year and Florida’s Entertainer of the Year. Johnny is electrifying the Central Florida country music scene and has a large following with his performances at NASCAR racetracks throughout the United States. Whenever he is at home in Central Florida, his fans find him performing shows in the local area.

And last but not least, country music singer Bobby Meeks performed selections from his popular “Solid Gold Country Classics” show. Bobby has performed several times at the Performing Arts Center and is a fan favorite for his authentic style and country music repertoire.

This awesome country music concert ended with a medley of gospel and patriotic songs, with all the performers joining on stage. Hopefully this was the first of many more shows to come at the Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center promoting local Central Florida country music performers!
